Greenland is an island on its surface lay square miles of snow or ice. Greenland is also one of the largest store of ice on earth after Antarctica. Besides in Greenland, Antarctica is also increasingly threatened by global warming. The process of melting ice in Antarctica is faster because the entire surface of Antarctica is unlike ice in Greenland. This leads to increased speed of melting ice due to the nature of others, namely the ice more easily move over the surface of the liquid than on solid surfaces.

In Greenland, glaciers are above the solid surface, but in the Antarctic ice directly above the water. Ice which is above the water undergoes a more rapid movement than the ice that is above the solid surface. This adds to the factors that cause the ice to break. If the ice in Antarctica broke, then it will be a giant block of ice floating in the ocean and melting more quickly because the volume is smaller.
